I have a BA in Fine Art and a MA Art in Public, and have had shows at home and abroad, creating and commissioning art that has tried to think about the world and society. When the doubt set in and I felt this wasn't really enough, that maybe art wasn't enough, I put everything aside and set off on a sensory and social journey.
Art is hard to properly abandon though, so after a year and a half of floods and snowscapes and cyclones and constant earthquakes, art re-surfaced while I was working in a Nepali camp for Internally Displaced Persons. And it kept popping up through the earthquake murals in Kathmandu, as the creative led humanitarian responses, and as the cultural resilience that kept communities strong through their hardest times.
So I am an artist and a writer. I really love working with others, and collaborate with my friends under a number of guises. I try to be a humanitarian even when I am not in a disaster zone, and I am glad there is art in the world.
